M & P Committee Bid Farewell To Rev. Takouhi

On Wednesday evening (October 7, 2020), the M & P Committee met with Rev. Takouhi to have a conversation about her years with us in the Elgin-Portland Pastoral Charge. We talked about the highlights, the disappointments, the accomplishments, what we have learned from each other and what we (both as a Minister moving on and a Charge seeking new leadership) can offer our next relationships.

Following this conversation, and to express appreciation on behalf of both Elgin and Portland congregations for her years with us, Rev. Takouhi was presented an original painting by one of her favourite artists, Margaret Martin, a member of the Portland congregation. It is entitled, “Respite,” and depicts Portland Bay.

We also took the opportunity to send a special gift and “thank you” to Gary Petro for the many, many hours he has given us in his role as our Web Master.

We wish Rev. Takouhi nothing but the best as she takes up her new ministry on November 1, and look forward to remaining neighbours with the whole Dimirdjian-Petro family as they continue to reside in Portland.
