Elgin United Church CYAYA

Welcome to CYAYA at Elgin United Church

Our Children, Youth, and Young Adults (CYAYA) play a vital role in worship at EUC.  They lead the congregation using contemporary Christian music to open the service with Praise and Worship.

Later, during the service of worship, Reverend Takouhi leads a focus time specific to the Children, Youth, and Young Adults.  This often incorporates a story, and responsive music that involves both the CYAYA and the congregation.  It closes with a repeating prayer.

The next phase of worship for the CYAYA is a time of learning in the Centennial Room.  Activities are planned for preschool, tween, and teen, usually along the same theme, but with age-appropriate focus.  Many lessons incorporate modern media into the learning, such as a video of the day’s Bible story, the use of Bible apps, and contemporary readings to appeal to our maturing teens.

Leadership is provided by our teens, with the support of an adult facilitator.

On the first Sunday of the month, Family is the focus, and our CYAYA stay in the sanctuary throughout the service to participate more fully, helping with readings, ushering, and of course leading Praise and Worship.

We welcome new and returning CYAYA to come experience the love of Christ with us!

Ephesians 3:19

May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
